Locum Management
This is a service whereby we will provide an experienced manager to maintain operations for anything from one week to three months. Typically, it is during a period when the organisation is seeking to replace a General Manager. It takes time to advertise, interview and select the right person for such a critical role. Arts organisations have a small core management team and it is very disruptive when the GM's functions are either delegated to other staff with an already full load or simply left undone for some months.
We are able to solve this problem by providing a locum, who takes on board all the responsibilities of the existing position and ensures that the organisation continues to function efficiently during the transition period. When the new GM takes up that role, they do not inherit a huge backlog and are able to quickly move forward.
When we accept a locum placement, the person we install is paid at the same rate as the existing GM. In addition we charge a 15% fee to pay for our cost in sourcing and overseeing this position and providing locum with whatever management backup they need to successfully fulfil the role. The agreement is for whatever period the company decides and can be terminated at one day's notice.
